2026 – Present

Director & Chief Curator

Futures Imagined

Futures Imagined is my independent studio, where I work as Director and Chief Curator. Working at the intersection of art, science, and futures thinking, it brings together curatorial depth, commercial acumen, and strategic intelligence, developed across 25 years of international practice, to help businesses and institutions act with confidence as they navigate complex and uncertain futures. The studio offers exhibition development, conference and programme design, strategic advisory, and keynote speaking. It partners with cultural institutions, governments, and industry to develop work that is both conceptually rigorous and publicly engaging.

2021 – Present

Vice President, ArtScience Museum and Attractions

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

I have been Director of ArtScience Museum since 2014. In 2021, my role expanded to Vice President, ArtScience Museum and Attractions at Marina Bay Sands, one of Singapore's most recognisable cultural and tourism landmarks. I now lead both the museum and Marina Bay Sands' Attractions portfolio, which includes SkyPark Observation Deck, Digital Light Canvas by teamLab, and the Sampan canal boat rides. Across the portfolio, I oversee artistic direction, institutional strategy, operations, commercial performance, partnerships, visitor experience, plus a team of over 100 staff. Together, the museum and attractions welcome millions of visitors each year.

2014 – 2021

Executive Director, ArtScience Museum

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

As Executive Director, I shaped ArtScience Museum's identity as a cultural institution where contemporary art, science, technology and culture are in sustained dialogue. I led the museum's artistic and strategic direction, built its curatorial programme, developed international partnerships, and oversaw exhibitions, public programmes, education, operations and audience development. During this period, I led the museum through a major phase of growth, presenting more than 60 exhibitions, increasing annual visitation substantially, and establishing Future World: Where Art Meets Science with teamLab as the museum's permanent exhibition. Under my leadership, ArtScience Museum became recognised for large-scale, immersive and research-led exhibitions that connect artistic imagination with science, technology and the urgent questions of the present.

2010 – 2014

Director, Lighthouse

Brighton, UK

At Lighthouse, I was Director, leading the artistic and executive direction of the organisation and shaping a programme of exhibitions, film, and events across Brighton and in collaboration with national and international partners. I presented major solo projects by artists including The Otolith Group, Trevor Paglen, James Bridle, and Mariele Neudecker, while supporting film commissions recognised by BAFTA Awards and the Academy Awards. I led fundraising, strategic planning, governance, and partnerships, and built a strong organisational team. I also positioned Lighthouse as a key connector within Brighton's cultural ecology, co-founding Brighton Digital Festival and developing collaborations with universities, festivals, and scientific institutions.

At transmediale I was Curator of transmediale.10: Futurity Now, one of Europe's most significant annual festivals of art and digital culture. Director, AV Festival

Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland & Middlesbrough, UK

At AV Festival, the UK's largest international festival of digital art, I was Director and led its transition from a pilot project into a biennial event of international standing across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough. I established the organisation as an independent charitable company, Audio Visual Arts North East, securing regular funding from Arts Council England in 2008. I held both artistic and executive responsibility, shaping the curatorial vision across exhibitions, performances, and public programmes, while overseeing governance, financial management, fundraising, and strategic planning. I also recruited and led the Board of Trustees and built a team of staff and freelancers to deliver the festival at scale.

2000 – 2003

Curator of Webcasting, Tate

London, UK

At Tate, I was based at Tate Modern and worked across all four Tate museums as Curator of Webcasting. I established Tate's live webcasting and online events programme, building one of the earliest institutional platforms for digital engagement and managing its archive. Alongside this, I curated and produced art and technology events, including performances and public programmes, and co-developed award-winning e-learning projects such as i-Map and Tate Modern's multimedia tour, both recipients of BAFTA Awards in 2002. I recruited and led a production team delivering weekly broadcasts, collaborated with senior leadership on early digital strategy and interpretation initiatives, and managed key partnerships, including the programme's principal sponsor, BT.
